A: The client is from China, China is not on the IRS list, so we need ID.
M: No, China is on the list, this account should be fine.
A: Ok, I see China now, it's under Republic of China (Taiwan)
J: Dear A, are you saying China is part of ROC (Taiwan)?
A: It says China, so I would assume it is? but why does it also say Taiwan?
J: Because ROC is Taiwan
A: and China is under ROC, right?
M: Repulic of China is not China? I thought it is...or is ROC for Taiwan only?
J: You two have no idea how happy I am right now, I can't stop smiling.
A: I see there is a PRC, what's PRC?
J: PRC is People's Republic of China, AKA China.
A: ok, so China is PRC and not under ROC
J: in reality China is PRC, but I like your original interpretation better though.
M: I think someone is from Taiwan.
J: guilty.
A: just glad we cleared things up here, thanks!
